Altman is a good enough and capable director to make this bareable, and Richard Gere is alright and charming enough to make this unoriginal character somewhat interesting.
Yet the film never amounts to much.
The story is simply not good enough, and it really a shame Altman wastes his great talent on such a dissapointing story.
