Gamers never quit, we restart.
Gamers never die, we respawn.
Gamers never train, we level up.
Gamers never get chicks, we get achievements.
This movie Is perfect, nothing is wrong in this movie. Martin Scorsese could never.
narrative equivalent of “i’m a gamer, not because i have no life, but because i choose to have many”
took a photo of our cat to show my girlfriend and she laughed and asked me "what loser wizard movie are you watching in the background?"
anyway it was this one! maybe the most successful video game movie? really captures the feeling of playing a game, and being a videogame fan which I unfortunately am (though i've never played Dragon Quest). really interesting to have me come out of this movie pro-gaming, where otherwise i think it is a parasite that eats time
+ .5 star for a genuinely surprising twist and + .5 star for the design of the dragon quest slime, one of gaming's most perfect creatures
I had a bunch of reasons as to why I was mildly curious to see this. The animation looked great, even though I was admittedly disappointed that Akira Toriyama's iconic art style for the series was not used (though to my shock there is a reason for that!!). I've never played Dragon Quest V (or any other in the series for that matter, except for the Demo to XI), so I figured this would be a decent "sparknotes"-esque way that I could experience one of the older games without having to sink 30 hours into one. In fact, it probably is better watching this with no prior knowledge of the story so that I wouldn't be so annoyed with the…
Got caught off-guard by an unpredictable ending that simply hit too close to home.
Gonna keep this much shorter than usual because talking about it in depth would give away too much. The film is really strong. But it isn't really strong until the ending, which helps to re contextualize the whole film you had just seen. I won't give anything away, but if you are a fan of animated adventures this a much watch. It also has some of the best CG animation I have seen to date. It still isn't amazing, but I had a lot of fun with the film.
I lift a comically large goblet labeled JRPG JUICE to my mouth and slime-blu liquid pours all down the front of my yu yu hakusho t-shirt. still pouring I gargle out the words "you guys this is totemo sugoi"
La animación está bien chida. La historia parece como una aventura divertida de fantasía pero después se convierte en una cosa bieeeeeen extraña. Creo que es una peli para los más fans de la franquicia y... yo no soy uno. Eso sí, no la pasé horrible, está decente.
To me dragon quest v is the best game ever created, this movie tells the story quite hasty but if you played the game you Will understand the ending
Golly gee I wuv Dwagon Qwest I wuv it more than my family gamers sure are poggers!
This probably looks like a massive hunk of shit to most people -especially those that have no history with Dragon Quest- but I had a fucking blast watching it. Can't wait to show this to someone after forcing them to watch at least an hour of DQXI cutscenes as a primer
This is the best movie I have ever seen!
The Main Charakter‘s name is Hero wich is very cool
because I want to be a hero as well. I also main Hero in the Video Game
Super Smash bros ultimate. My problem with this game is, that they made hero
much to low. Every time I play online there I get beaten by an idiot who play Ganondorf. This Charakter is much over powered!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really fun watch especially if you're a fan of DQ! Ending kinda fucky lowers it from great to good tho
Something happens in the last 10 minutes that leaves you saying “what the fuck”
