2016 Directed by Paul Soriano
Based on a true kidnapping event, Carlo Sandoval was kidnapped instead of his sister.
Filipino kidnapping drama with some well-known local actors like Enrique Gil, Shaina Magdayao & Christopher De Leon. Feels very much a independent movie, but with some powerful media backers. What I liked about Dukot (2016) was the low-key approach to a clichéd plot. Also pretty straight forward, not needing to think too much and just relax as the story unfolds.
A crime-thriller film based on a true kidnapping event. This have a decent straight to point story but for a crime thriller this is a little bit boring, still pretty enjoyable in some parts especially the scenes with Christopher de Leon.
Hindi ko alam kung bakit, pero dalang-dala ako kay Christopher de Leon dito, eh hindi naman siya halos nagsalita. I think I became a fan. ^^♥

narealize ko lang na minsan nasa tamang roles na ibinibigay sa mga artista ang key para makita mo yung potential nila talaga sa pag-arte
It started really gripping and calm, to think this happened in real life it really set that tone for my expectations. The aspect that bugged me was the moral jab in the storytelling. I just couldn't. I admit, I slept halfway through but that climax still didn't make me engaged by the end.

The whole putrid air of religious and moral contrivance drudging its every angle. They didn't even kidnap a boy; he's a full grown man, and the whole thing is problematic that way. F
Dukot can be commended on injecting fresh ideas into the local mainstream industry, and it shows Soriano’s maturity in his craft. However, the script lacks the guts to deliver a story as dark and gritty as its visuals. Dukot holds back on depicting hostility and violence that could have rendered audiences more upset and unsettled about today’s reality the moment they exit theaters.
