I'll give it one thing, it's certainly fucking ambitious. Such an out-there plot with tendrils of all sorts of elements coming together in this hodgepodge of craziness, of which having the cast dress up like it's an extended sketch from The Kids in the Hall (the wig budget must have cost more than anything else in here) only adds to the surrealism. In all honestly, I wish I enjoyed this more, knowing how much effort and fun went into it. But for this kind of film and at that long of a runtime, I just found myself wanting to check out more often than I'd like.
I love the mutant bunny, but unfortunately we have to sit through a lot of generica to get to it. The gore in those scenes is awesome and funny. If this had been just the the monster, it probably would be a holiday classic for me, but at 137mins I'm not prepared to watch it every year. Just the bunny bits might make a good 60min movie.
