  my son's first trip to the movies!

  I plied him with a giant popcorn bag full of starburst gummies and by the third act he was swiveling the beverage holder tray on my seat around 360 degrees and laughing as i pretended like it was cutting off my head but we made it through the whole thing! the only "i need to go run around for a second" break we took was during the dog-ass UP short before the movie, and honestly i was grateful for the excuse to bolt.

  Not as bad as Twitter or the box office would lead to believe, but still frustrating that it chooses to speed run a half baked romance instead of unpacking the one thing I thought truly worked— the immigrant story. Not to say the movie should exist without romance, but almost every other aspect was far more interesting. Hell, even the city’s apathy to an issue that endangers a whole community was something I was excited to see the movie unpack, but instead we get Wade being a goofy goober. 

  Oh well, still prefer more of these original ideas over another Toy Story movie.
