Hey, 200 reviews! To commemorate this, let’s look at an Exorcist rip off that’s more intermittently entertaining than it is good.
To be fair, this actually starts out interesting, what with some genuinely shocking blasphemy (crucifixion, Ivan Rassimov as a version of Satan who isn’t shy about nudity and that religious icon in general), an effective electronic score and some kinky sexual content that wouldn’t be out of place in a EuroHorror movie from this period. Then it ends up becoming yet another generic Exorcist imitation, with exorcisms and pea soup vomit. Which is a shame, because for a while it’s an engaging slice of unapologetic horror sleaze. It’s just a shame that the road to the destination is better than the actual main event.
