  Expectable plot about a woman who is arrested and put into a Gulag with very good recordings of the siberian snowy world.

  I thought the film was quite effective in showing what life was like within Hungary as the Second World War drew to a close. I also appreciated that the movie, while quite blunt in showing the brutal conditions and leadership under the Soviets in the gulags of Russia, was able to demonstrate some of the justifications and reasoning behind these orders as opposed to a purely evil and heartless entity. I found it quite interesting how the characters adjusted to the conditions of gulag life as key defining characteristics were reversed or annulled in the contexts of gulag life. I also thought the ending was quite strong and really boosted the movie as a whole.

  The history of Hungarians (men and women) being deported to Soviet Union during World War II to work on forced labor camps is something that only surfaced after the dissolution of the USSR, and those events are the subject of this movie.

  It's both a historical drama and an improbable romance, I liked it a lot. It's one of those movies that you're not missing out on anything special if you don't watch it, but you definitely won't waste your time if you do.

  The notion that love and beauty can emerge from even the worst hells, horror and struggle is a sentiment we need to hear over and over again. Thankfully films like this help us to imagine this sentiment anew. A tough watch, but also rewarding.

  Kendőzetlen történt a szovjet lágerek bemutatásáról. A túlélés poklát is bemutatja, emellett egy szerelmi történetnek is megágyaz. A színészek nagyon jók, és gratulálok az egész magyar csapatnak, remek rendezés kb. egy darab percig sem tűnt fel hogy ez tévé film.

  as a hungarian, this movie hits really hard.

  it started off strong and merciless, but then in the second half it became a cheesy somewhat stock romantic movie, which wasnt really a problem, but it had potentional and could have been more impactful. anyway the ending really saved it from the fell off list and its an outstanding movie imo especially compared to the average hungarian cinema

  این اثر که به ما ارزانی داده شده بسی گرانمایه است، نخست باید گفت که گاهی فقط گاهی خلا یافت می شود ولی ظرافت ها و توجه ها چشم‌ مخاطب را بر روی آنها می بندد . نگاهی که فیلم برمی گزیند نگاهی کاملاً ضد جنگ است و این از این منظر اهمیت دارد که بر سر آن نیست که علیه کسی و در مقابل کسی قرار گیرد بلکه با ایجاد روابط انسانی سعی در بیان حرف خود دارد ، تمام آنچه که نیز بدست می آورد از همین نگاه های عاشقانه و اعمال انسان دوستانه است و خب زیباست . چند بازی ارزشمند یافت می شود که گزیده آن و شاید بهترین آن در یک شخصیت مکمل است که او چانشی انسانی فیلم را می افزاید و همین توجه همین ساختن ها سبب می شود فیلم با امید به پایان برسد ، با زنده ماندن که هر چقدر هم‌خوشبینانه باشد ، انسان جز این هیچ چیز ندارد.
