Eddie Marsan plays a sales assistant who is into Viking re-enactment weekends. But will his warrior’s stance help him win back his estranged wife from the local school’s PE teacher?
The story concerns Richard (Eddie Marsan) a thirty-something sales assistant whose wife Cath (Jessica Haynes) has left him for their son's PE teacher Gary (Paul Nicholls).
The reason she's left is Richard's weekend activity; he's fascinated with historic battle re-enactment. To get Cath back, he ought to cut his hair, put the sword away and begin to act his age. Occasionally, only a combatant's bold heart can win the maiden fair.

Stop making films where the woman is villainized for not wanting to be with her mediocre husband anymore 2k18
One of those gently funny, British films. I'm used to Jessica Hynes being the funny one not Eddie Marsan. I couldn't recall where I knew Bronagh Gallagher from (Birdie in Count Arthur Strong most recently and The Commitments) but I had no idea she was in Pulp Fiction. This kinda blew my mind - which somehow led me to searching Jessica Hynes and various actors on The Oracle of Bacon e.g. Buster Keaton from Jessica Hynes is only 2 away. Actors!
Not the best, the funniest or the most original movie, but it has heart. And heart goes a long way. As does the cool soundtrack.
Basic plot British romcom... enjoyable, but not groundbreaking by any stretch. It was pretty funny in spots and the soundtrack was not bad
This gets an extra 1/2 star because it's shot in my home town and old school, oh and I saw it being shot.
It's an okay film, nothing that offensive.
Entertaining film. You don’t watch it to watch a good film. You watch it to be a little entertained.
