  The romance between Letty and Dom actually works for me in this movie because of Los Bandoleros! Movie has the same ending as Die Hard 2 and Toy Story 2. Love it!!

  To this day, I do not fully understand how I get so little pleasure out of a movie where a car fights a tank, Luke Evans talks with absolute sincerity about his code of honor in a series of handsome distressed jackets, and Vin Diesel spends 35% of his scenes with his arms crossed so his muscles remain flexed and big at all times. It should not be scientifically possible for me to give this motion picture less than 12 stars. And yet here we are.

  I thought I preferred Fast Five, but while Justin Lin's deep-dive into the 'Ocean's Eleven'/'superhero'/Crime-caper mixtape genre is definitely successful (I mean, how could it not be? They tow a fucking BANK safe through downtown Rio.), it is outmatched by the Telemundo soul and the surreal escapades of the set-pieces in Fast and Furious 6. This entry has it all: cars *specifically designed* to flip other cars, The Vin Diesel Brood face, Paul Walker getting angry, Tyrese Gibson being surprised at the chaos around him, Gal Gadot, Michelle Rodriguez, and Gina Carano never lowering their bravado below the level of 'complete-unadulterated-badass', never-ending establishing shots, a gigantic tank which has the power to run over other cars like they're potato…

  The most disappointing part is also the most emblematic: The Rock NEVER sweats in this movie. He fights and drives and grunts and scowls, but he never sweats -- a stark contrast to the last movie where he never DIDN'T sweat.

  And that's really this FAST & FURIOUS in a nutshell: it looks good, but it rarely recaptures the feverish, manic insanity of the last one, which was pretty much *all* feverish, manic insanity. There are a couple good sequences and Luke Evans is maybe the best villain the series has ever had, but it might also be both the stupidest AND the most complex FAST & FURIOUS yet.
