I'm not kidding here, this is one of the greatest shorts that I have ever seen, Live-Action or animated, Disney or otherwise. The visuals were beautiful, the story was moving, and the pacing was impeccable. And yes, I cried at one point.
Damn you Disney, but thank you at the same time.
Feast is short, sweet, simple, sensitive, sumptuous, sympathizable and incredibly satisfying. Instantly and easily relatable, it is a heart-warming tale, shimmering with ingenuity and dazzling with heaps of enthusiasm. Feast is a wondrously joyful ride that deals with a variety of human and dog emotions in such an unbelievably short span of time. 6 minutes. That is all it took for this Oscar winning animated short to lure me into its space, tempt me with loads of gorgeously designed food, excite and kindle the dormant foodie in me with some extremely passionate binge eating and to refresh my memory in an honestly emphatic manner as to why the bond between humans and dogs is most definitely a match made in…
I remember seeing this at the Epcot Pixar short film festival attraction, and how when it did the closeups of the food going into the dog’s mouth the seat vibrated and I really thought that was a nice feature
Telling the story of a man's life through the eyes of an outsider (his dog) is extremely touching in a "life is what happens while you're busy making other plans" kind of way. Feast is adorable beyond words and had the packed theater on their knees with laughter. The "everyone loves puppies!" access point into the audience seems a little too easy, but I have to admit that even the skeptic in me was tearing up by the end.
Feast, I can see why this Oscar-winning short animation was given. To start, the animation is beautiful, and the usage of colours and food is tasteful and works well with the animation. We see Winnstone, a dog who is fueled by the excellent food he eats, observe his owner's growth in life with each shot of Winston through the good times and the bad, and at the end, Winnstone helps his owner get married and revive his relationship with an ex. Overall, a very great animation.
Mannnn why can’t they make a movie that looks like this (I say with an understanding of why they haven’t made a movie that looks like this)
