Great science fiction dose not exist in a vacuum. Great science fiction is much more. It transcends a traditional discourse of cinema and narratives. Few screenwriters have manged to breakthrough the limits imposed by Hollywood's deceptive notion of what science fiction is. Nolan, Heisserer (w/ help from Chiang), and Moffat are not just some of the best screenwriters of today, but some of the most talented story-tellers of all time. They have given audiences the opportunity to experience science fiction the way it was meant to, serial adventures, multi-topical examinations on humanity, perceptions of time and space. The time for science fiction is now. The pieces made today, whether it be a ninety minute adaptation of a short story, a three hour-long odyssey, or a forty to seventy minute piece in a over fifty year log serial, REAL science fiction exists in the realm in which its self explores.
