Flick hit a lot of sweet spots for me, I'm not gonna front! Set at Halloween in a small town called Hobbs End [filmed in Wales], a greaser comes back from the dead in search of the girl who promised him a dance & a kiss, I'm a sucker for stuff like Peggy Sue Got Married, The Midnight Hour, My Boyfriend's Back, Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II; Flick fits nicely in the horny for nostalgia niche love stories with a zombie/ghoul/time traveler finding love beyond the grave/stars/time!
...and aesthetically! Don't get me started!! Janky rockabilly playing on old rusted out car radios, neon green lightning glowing in the sky above a private boat that doubles as a radio station gassing up lovesick zombies, Faye Dunaway as an American detective with a prosthetic hand and romantic heart, yellow tinged grime & slime filmed in a psychedelic comic book freak-out--CGI squirting blood be damned, I loved it!
Flick was an unexpected treat!
