With the digital video camera came a revolution in modern filmmaking. The proliferation of "affordable" video cameras has given the world access to what was once completely out of reach for most of humanity-we don't really have any excuses to not make films. With Fragments of a Memory of a Film MLP has taken advice from various filmmaking greats, and simply made a film. In 2016, that step is often the hardest.
To say the director tears down 4th walls would be a reductive understatement, as MLP never starts work on one. We are in on the joke from minute one, and it is only after the first 20 minutes that we ever get any "real" fiction. Questioning the elements…
A brilliant exploration of modernism, postmodernism, metamodernism, semimodernism, heteromodernism, homomodernism, metromodernism, cosmomodernism, aeromodernism, philiomodernism, and little pizza boys -- all this against the magnificent backdrop of the most beautiful city of all: Heidelburg, Yugoslavia.
