With no lack of imagination, Game over flawlessly integrates themes like PTSD and fear of the dark into this effective and surprising horror film.
Satisfyingly told, this straight up bizarre ride is incredibly tense for most of the time, combining elements of the slasher with supernatural and psychological horror to mindbending and unpredictable result. The psychological side is equally shocking as it is emotional, and this all feels very realistic. It's a strong basis, further explored in a more fantastical way, which entirely works in this movie.
The tension only occasionally takes a break to give you some time to breath in between all this terror. Some of those breaks worked, some were a bit too overdramatic, but within such a unique and spellbinding total experience, full of great writing, convincing acting and compelling characters, it's a small flaw I can easily forgive.
