  Back in 1994 I had a huge crush on a cheerleader at my high school named Ginger Jordan. The odds were decidedly not in my favor; I was a pudgy, oily-skinned, Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker-obsessed sophomore, while Ginger was a senior, one of the most popular students at the school, and only a few months away from heading off to college at UGA. Ginger tolerated my presence in a court-jester-to-the-queen sort of way—we shared the same drama class, during which I would use our short time together to try to prove my worth by showing off both my homemade ninja chicken comics and my ability to make myself pass out—and every so often I'd carry her books out to the parking lot after…

  You have to give “Geostorm” at least a little bit of credit: For a movie about the potentially destructive power of 21st Century technology, it sure is a convincing example of the potentially destructive power of 21st Century technology. At this point, of course, it’s already old news that computer-generated effects have effectively defanged the disaster movie genre (shout out to the lifeless plastic likes of “2012” and “San Andreas”). And while audiences might not be willing to accept that, we’ve at least reached that point in the grieving process where we can appreciate its inevitability.

  The only film you will ever need to see. This film transcends cinema as an entertainment medium. Gerard Butler is Oscar worthy in this deeply political and environmentally conscious masterpiece. All films prior to this holy grail are irrelevant and have no meaning in comparison to this Titan, this god send of cinema

  A.V. Club review. Most people are complaining that there's not enough geostorm, but I had almost the opposite reaction: So many cities are destroyed during the countdown that our heroes' efforts to prevent the geostorm seemed kind of pointless. It's already happening, Gerard. Everyone's dead. Just stay in space.

  I’m done with the space dads.

  I’m done with the sad dads who go to space. I’m done with the sad dads defined by dead or absent earth mums, these sad, isolated dads that go to space.
  I’m done with the sad, partnerless space dads that are humanised by having daughters - because that’s the scope of femininity in the space dad genre.

  I’m done with space dads.

  I would say send them to space, that’s how done I am with them, but the being in space is the problem.

  Maybe I should watch Mars Needs Moms.

  This was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. There were barely any Geostorms. Was kinda funny though.
