My Private Go-Go, Getting Go The Go Doc Project, The Go Doc Project, Como começar: projeto Go, 我为勾勾狂
There were some lovely intimate and awkward (by design) conversations, but it wasn’t enough to sustain this faux documentary. Instead the story is peppered with long, drawn-out montages of kissing and dancing. I guess that was the film’s attempt to be artsy and visually appealing, but it just seemed so unnecessary.
This feels very experimental, which is generally a miss for me. I also got bullied by my family for putting this on in the living room because I DIDN'T KNOW!!!! Watch the first minute and a half to see for yourself.
Doc is a college student in New York City who sets out to document on video his encounters with a go-go boy aptly named Go, that he met on-line. That is the set up for this visually dazzling, sexy and smart fake documentary. Tanner Cohen and Matthew Camp play Doc and Go with intelligence and emotional veracity. They also make an attractive couple in this hard-R film that never goes over the line into pornography. Until the end credits I was never quite sure that this wasn't a real documentary. First time director Cory Krueckeberg utilizes every editing technique available in this digital age: split screens, slo-mo, montages set to an impeccably selected dance music sound track. But what sets this film apart is the chemistry between the two leads which is the main factor which sells this film as a real, rather than mock documentary.
uhh i just...i don’t even know where to begin with this movie. i sincerely, with all my heart, absolutely disliked the main character. he was the epitimy of a “masc4masc”, “no fats, no fems” gay. thank god for the go go dancer, he was the only woke character in this film. also, the main characters name was doc and i seriously don’t vibe with that.
the movie script was just okay and the acting was absolutely atrocious. idk i feel like i just wasted an hour and 30 minutes of my life. i don’t think doc actually grew as a person in the end, contrary to what the movie wants you to believe.
but anywhoozles, doc better get rid of that ugly ass red cap or i’m gonna drop kick him off observation deck of the statue of liberty.
30 Days Of Gay - Day 13 - Film 13
Adopting a familiar premise that could've very easily veered into horror territory or @ the very least, disgusting voyeurism, this semi-documentarial effort instead transforms itself into an energetic, endearing, & engrossing experience under the director's careful hand that left me wanting more in the exact. same manner as Tangerine did, proving, once again, how indie is always the way to go.
The rare, truly enjoyable gay film. This film is sexy and at the same time thoughtful. The script captures the age of the graduating protagonist and his often misguided ideas, deftly.
I was absolutely fascinated by this pseudo-documentary about obsession, gay nightlife, and the relationship between an artist and his muse. Honestly, I expected a dumb movie with male eye candy… but instead, got something really interesting and insightful, with a dash of Andy Warhol.
Matthew Camp is way cuter with his clothes on! When he’s naked, he always looks like he smells like the gym… I know some of you dirty bitches like that.
Blink and you’ll miss Thorgy Thor!

Who would have thought that a film like The Blair Witch Project would have given rise to a film which is as much of a polar opposite of it as Getting Go: The Go Doc Project, a film that seems to be captured by webcams, smartphone cameras and camcorders and basically chronicles the identity delusions of a nonetheless honest student at a large university in New York City, but from rural America somewhere, about to graduate. Shortly before the end of his tenure in New York, while maintaining a blog with a modest number of subscribers he chats with during his auto-erotic ministrations and discussions of his latest online image obsession, a go go boy that he's focused on to…
Hands down one of the best gay films I have ever seen. I was initially intrigued by the go-go boy aspect and thought this was just another silly gay flick with hot guys....something to kill some time before dinner, but i was wrong. This is much more than a gay film, it explores relationships and finding who you are on much deeper level. It also brings into question the idea that being gay means you have to be a certain way, it asks, why can't we just be people.....who happen to be attracted to the same sex. Everything is done right and I feel like i know the characters and i can feel what they are feeling. Definitely recommend this and think it's a must watch for every gay man, but i think straight people will get a lot out of it as well.
Interesting mockumentary about a Columbia student and an obsession. Very alternative and indie feel to it, from the plot and acting to its script and cinematography.
I've seen por... I mean adult films *cough* with better storylines than this. Maybe they put it in the wrong catagory on hulu... Who am I kidding I got exactly what I came for.
