In order to save his dying father, young stunt cyclist Johnny Blaze sells his soul to Mephistopheles and sadly parts from the pure-hearted Roxanne Simpson, the love of his life. Guilty pleasure, I mean Nicholas Cage going crazy with his head set on fire shouting bad dialogue, its what we've come to know and love.
I’m fairly confident Sam Elliott is playing the same guy in this and The Big Lebowski. And I’m 100 percent confident this movie would be better if The Dude became Ghost Rider, even though Nicolas Cage is consistently and entertainingly bizarre in this; chugging coffee right out of the pot, talking like Elvis on quaaludes, and touching his face like he’s an alien consciousness that’s just been given physical form for the first time.

Why is Nicolas Cage eating candy from a martini glass the only thing I remember from this movie?
There are at least two moments of Cage Rage™ that make this movie absolutely worth it.
So I can't explain why, but I dig this. I can see the (many, many) flaws yet that just doesn't really stop me from enjoying this.
For starters, I love the lore of Ghost Rider but that's more on the comics than this, however (although I'm not an expert by any means) this feels like at least a somewhat faithful adaptation of the source material.
The performance of Nicolas Cage is pretty solid as well. He does some weird shit, eating jellybeans out of a martini glass for starters. Don't get me wrong, it's classy as fuck, but also weird. Everyone else involved is decent enough, although Sam Elliott might be the best of the lot.
It's got some shitty CGI and not the greatest story overall and it's probably 10-15 minutes too long, but this is enjoyable as hell.
This movies just straight up stinks. It has the most lazy and generic script possible. Every single 2000's movie trope is here. It does nothing original. The villain character even looks like a Disney channel vampire kid. It's so lame.
