Weirdly enough, I've been meaning to see Ghost Ship for nearly 20 years.
It was one of a handful of movie covers that intrigued me back in the days when one would peruse the aisles of Movie Gallery, Blockbuster, and Hollywood Video.
And whaddaya know? It's complete shit.
The opening scene is actually pretty great. Decently shot, utterly indelible, and unflinchingly graphic. The level of gratuitousness is borderline comical, but hey, we're here for entertainment. The movie is called fucking Ghost Ship.
Sadly, this ultimately just serves to set expectations too high and deflate any remaining tension tangential to the "mystery" of the ship.
