The final episode has one of the most beautiful and expressive scenes I’ve seen in years. This alone left me in awe. I won’t spoil what it’s about but once you’ve seen it you will know what I’m talking about.
It’s a great show if you are into crime dramas. People don’t talk enough about it.
There won’t be a better scene than the rooftop in the finale for a very long time. In awe
Otherwise known as Duty/Shame, this is something of a hidden gem, and I'm surprised that hardly anyone's talking about it.
Had it not been for my uncle who played an extra in this, and always telling us about his experiences on set, this might have also flown under the radar for me, as it did with everyone else.
Unfortunately, I took my time getting around to it, and the first episode was a bit of a slow burn that doesn't necessarily sink its teeth into you.
But by end of episode 2, I was in.
By episode 3, I was hooked.
And from then on, it was a series to savour.
It's a very smooth and mature integration of a…
the most underrated series of the last year !!!!
it has east asian and lgbt representation and great diverse cultures in general and of course the flops at the bbc cancelled it because people can’t handle subtitles. the storyline and obvious inspiration from asian cinema >>>>>>
loved the witty banter (very guy ritchie at times with gangsters of the Japanese and British kind and one liners) and the well earned emotional arcs too. i wanted more rodney!! his character alone could have his own show and more taki too
ok now let’s talk about that dancing scene .....,,,,,,,
at first I was like what the fuck lmao but i genuinely got into it (or is that just my love for musical theatre talking idk)

Rodney The Rent Boy spin-off. Please? Pleeeaase?!!??
***SPOILER ALERT***
With enough warmth and charm to effectively override any inclination to harsh scrutiny, this excellent series has the Japanese criminal underworld and its violent turmoil take a backseat to well-written characters and their complex relationships.
A hidden gem of a series that I highly recommend. Really enjoyed the ride.
PS: Kelly MacDonald-- to me, you'll always be Diane 💘
Forgot to log this series back in the beginning of August when I watched it but long story short, this show is a masterpiece. Blends pulp, drama, and comedy together effortlessly. Justin Long is still alive? and hilarious? Will Sharpe absolutely steals the show as drug-addicted and very flamboyant Rodney. He gives the best performance of the year in any medium I've seen.
The single best scene of the year? two years? three? however long it's been is in the last episode of this show. I haven't cried that hard in a long time.
Please watch this show. It's not *quite* perfect (e.g. the daughter), but is sleek, stylish, well-acted, well-directed, and is utterly engrossing. I loved it.
The recap is a piece of art and to be honest my favorite part.
Episode four was my favorite and episode six was just beautiful.
Rodney is my favorite character of course.
The acting *chef kiss*
Highly recommended.
Yeah breakups suck but have you ever had Netflix cancel your favorite tv show cause they failed to promote it enough
