This had an interesting premise, a rom-com with the main characters dealing with questions of belief. However, I lost faith early in.
The New Wave style does not suit Audrey Tautou's Amelie-lite character. She is cute and fluffy which comes as a complete contrast to the love interest Francois. This kind of conflict is usually a good fuel for a rom-com, but with no clear direction the story seems as aimless as the lead. I never rooted for the couple, but wanted Tatou's character to escape the relationship instead, as her charm shines through.
The style makes the story drag. There are moments of levity and deep religious ideas are explored, but not in any great depth. This could have been worse, but if it was, I probably would have stopped watching.
