It's one of those movies that's so annoyingly harmless that you forget it in a day or two. But, there are some really funny lines. The chemistry is spot on between Arkin, Caine and Freeman. Standard storytelling but it's entertaining enough. Plus, it's never a flaw when you get to hear Morgan Freeman say "OG Kush."

Between the dynamic and vibrant editing and camerawork, quirky, upbeat score and extremely charming performances by our three leads, this is in my books better than the original. Again most of what I mentioned, especially the editing and score, brings such a great amount of energy that makes the movie move at such a breezy speed. Arkin delivers on his characteristic dry humor, Caine brings the Brit wit and Freeman his inherent charm that draws you in. The cinematography was surprisingly good too. The script is strong enough to get me invested and they got great people to play the scums antagonist to make you root for these three.
All in all, a lovely and very amusing heist comedy that gets elevated by its lead cast.

Zach Braff must take great pride in knowing that there is at least one senior citizen in the world who was watching this alone at their home and said "This is my Black Panther."

If you've seen the trailer for Going in Style, then you've seen 90% of the movie and all of the best gags/jokes. But as a whole, it's trite, predictable, and not very well made, but completely harmless, funny in spots, and has three committed leads that work with each other very well.
It's decent but you'll be fine waiting for it to hit HBO.
If I had a dollar for every time they said 'old' in this movie I'd never have to rob a bank
Ooof. Nothing to see here except for three acting legends chipping away at their considerable legacies with a comedy as bland as they come. Braff's comedic direction is terrible. My Grandma had fun, at least.
An upbeat slice of cinematic comfort food, Zach Braff's "Going in Style" is an engaging and enjoyable comedy. Focusing on three elderly men who plot a bank heist, Braff's film is solidly entertaining and thoroughly fun.
Starring Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Alan Arkin as geriatric bank robbers, the film follows as the men plan and pull-off the criminal act. That act, motivated by a generalized mistreatment of the elderly, is the film's centerpiece, but the narrative is neatly constructed enough to spend time building character and identification with the film's three soon-to-cons.
Braff assembles his film with a visual verve and comic energy that results in certain cinematic electricity. It is a mid-tempo affair with an outstanding lead trio.…
Three old dudes rob a bank with incredible ease. The lack of tangible conflict after the first act makes this simultaneously narratively insufficient and undeniably pleasant to watch, as it’s just three funny grandpas with amazing voices hanging out. Alan Arkin is one of those perennial acting MVPs: he’s always the best part of any project he’s in, and, for whatever reason, I find his playful aggression ridiculously soothing.
Not sure why they got Peter Serafinowicz to play the deadbeat dad of Michael Caine’s grandchild, but also asked him to do an American accent. He’s good in the role, but nothing about the character suggests that he can’t be British. And I know the bar for mainstream comedy visuals is practically underground, but this genuinely has some of the ugliest camerawork I’ve ever seen from a major studio.
