Chris Rock takes us on a fascinating voyage of discovery as he uncovers the myth and the mystery behind a multi-billion dollar industry providing "good hair" to women and men of African descent.
Funnier and far more interesting that I'd imagined this subject would be. The documentary makers (channelled through a charismatic and ponderous Chris Rock) ask some very astute questions regarding the mindset of those who feel that natural curly hair isn't "good", where this issue derives from and who in the world profits from it.
There's history, science, geography and business lessons to be had here, along with some cringe-worthy spectacle to boot. An informative jaunt into a world I have zero stakes in, but proves entertaining nonetheless.
