Very odd film with a very odd title. Not exactly the dancing porn some weirdos may have hoped for. It's actually a moody drama from Poland about a mysterious young man whose plan to execute a couple is derailed when he meets their daughter. His motives and backstory are ambiguous and left unexplained, which is a little frustrating and I'm left grasping for the point of it all. It's beautifully shot and well-directed; I particularly liked Krzysztof Skonieczny's decision to utilize long, uninterrupted takes to heighten the tension in each scene.
Winner of best Polish film at the festival. Hardkor Disko is a cultural car crash, a mix up of a thousand different thing portrayed though it wide range of influences in music, film and tone shown through an abrasive lens and assaultive editing...that's pretty much a load of nonsense.
I actually went to watch Hardkor Disko on a bit of a whim, with spare time, I saw how short it was and the title seemed a bit of a laugh, so it could of just been a case I walked in not having a clue what the film was about, but the fact I waked out thinking the same thing doesn't bode well.

This is uncompromising, chilling, and downright stunning in the way it depicts a narrative structured on violence and what we perceive as a lack of identity to drive it. In truth, Skonieczny’s film is a mysterious art film portraying a man on a mission to search out two people, whom as he calls them mother and father, and kill them. It’s blunt initially in how the violence, if a little slight and knowing when you get a gist of what the picture is about, but there’s a fascination to the approach of Hardkor Disko. Nothing is truly given away here, simply Skonieczny is observing one man’s objective and we see it through the eyes of its deranged figure, portrayed by…
