  This is a delightful little DIY slasher that’s made with a hefty dose of love. A bunch of actual college age students make a haunted attraction in an abandoned house that happens to be the hangout of a crazed killer and no, it’s not the least bit original, but YES it’s fun and quite well done for what it is. There are a few very inspired shots and I don’t know how they did that flaming van scene on such a small scale shoot, but they sure knew how to get around the lack of budget they were working with and that’s what it’s all about, right?

  If you’re a low-budget SOV regional slasher, you’ve already got a solid hook in my heart. Set that slasher during Halloween season (but shoot it in the thick of a bluegrass summer), have a big chunk of the action take place in a DIY haunted attraction, and spend at least $200 of your $250 budget on SFX and cardboard standees from the video store? You’ve got me all strung up like Frank Cotton in his brother’s flesh suit, licking my lips and grinning like a glistening goof.

  No it's not about a haunted weiner unfortunately, but even better - a low budget brain dead Halloween slasher that will turn your brain into rotten candy corn! The kinda Z grade zoinker that shakes the foundation of logical conventions. Grilled cheese cinema from Jupiter perfect for the Halloween season. GUY TALKS LIKE A CHICKEN AND GIVES MY A BRAIN A PLEASIN.

  I wish I watched this sooner, I'd been putting if off because I thought it would be bad. Now it is bad, but 'so bad it's good'.

  After the opening scene there's about 50 minutes where no kills happen, but oh my its so entertaining. Character development consists of horrendously cheesy dialogue topped off with extremely over exaggerated accents, I was laughing so much. Honestly it's so ridiculous, every conversation made me laugh from how stupid they were. Random dancing scenes, out of place music, boat rides, nudity for no reason, this film has every element you want from a trashy slasher.

  But that makes it feel more like a frat movie than a horror movie at times.

  Little Eddie attempts to participate in the family Halloween (err.. I mean Hauntedween) haunted house but kills one of the guests for real. After fleeing the scene, he has returned home 20 years later as a fraternity is setting up a haunted house fundraiser in the old family home. Hauntedween is a fun little no budget regional slasher from Kentucky. It gets by largely on its DIY charm but being set in a Halloween haunt also helps. I still have no idea what Hauntedween is even after watching the movie though. The end credits promise a sequel that sadly never got made.

  HauntedWeen is a very silly low budget horror comedy and a great film to watch with some buddies and lots of booze! A so-bad-it's-good classic for sure! It has that nice little bad DTV movie charm that makes it all the more fun and it takes place in a haunted house! And they actually utilize the haunted house setting to their advantage! It offers some pretty cool kills with fun practical gore effects! Cheesy as hell, but fun nonetheless just like the rest of this movie! Please check this one out! It NEEDS to be seen! Worth every minute for sure!

  This ticks a bunch of my boxes: squished comic sans title, has its own theme song, one of the main frat guys talks like an 1890's prospector, and they tease a sequel at the end which never happened. Ril goofy and breezy and that's the way I like em!!! Consarnit!!!!!

  Director: it's that spooky time of the year when the weather gets colder, and you and your buddies open a haunted house.

  Incredible regional backyard slasher that features tons of white people dancing, a killer theme song, comic sans video toaster warping titles, inventive kill sequences, and scared frat bros in a haunted house. Hauntedween jolts alive with real Samhain spirit. Coed jabtonies party in costume, carved pumpkins glower, and the movie lifts liberally from Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Friday the 13th. What a king sized candy bar treat of stoopid holiday horror fun!

  I needed a chaser after watching The Mutilator, so being the sucker that I am for regional DIY horror movies, I opted for this entertaining Kentucky slasher shot in 1991. Shot on film for a very low budget, it's sincere and really wallows in the Halloween spirit as a bunch of frat kids get picked off in a notorious haunted house by a disturbed killer named Eddie. Even though it isn't October, this one snapped me in the right mood and made me wish I had some candy corn lying around. This barely got a VHS release back in the '90s but can be picked up as a self-distributed DVD from director Doug Robertson, with some pretty nutty extras including a music video(!) and a ton of enjoyable behind-the-scenes footage shot on a VHS camcorder.
