  Offen gestanden: ich bin es leid Filme wie diesen zu besprechen. Diese Kritiken werden auch langsam zu einer Ansammlung von Wiederholungen und Klischees, weil es unmöglich ist, nicht exakt dasselbe zu sagen wie zu „Red Notice“, „The Grey Man“ oder „Citadel“. 

  Daher nur der Tipp: zwei Thumbnails weiter gibt’s bei Netflix seit heute auch „Mission Impossible: Fallout“. Das hier wirkt wie die Asylum-Version davon.

  Buried in here somewhere is a fun idea: A double agent in a team of spies who have no idea their “rookie” computer expert is actually James Bond. When her colleagues aren’t looking, she kicks ass. When they are, she stumbles around and pretends she’s scared out of her mind.

  That’s a perfect premise for a high concept action comedy. But in order to exploit it, you need a comic actor who reads like a nebbish, so that when they suddenly transform into Ethan Hunt, it catches us off guard — and when they’re in awkward mode, they can do some actual physical comedy.

  So, of course, the filmmakers cast Wonder Woman in that part.

  I’ve got nothing against Gal Gadot…

  An attempt to make Dead Reckoning but failed on all basis. Hated pretty much everything. There’s one really good moment that gives it 1 star. Don’t watch it

  Possibly the most boring action movie ever made. I could not tell you the plot of this film if I tried. Character motivations are all over the place. The acting is awful which doesn’t help the awful script and the action lacks all tension because you couldn’t care less about any of the characters. It literally turns into a wannabe fashion/perfume advert at the end. It didn’t infuriate me, it just really bored me. The scores pretty good though.

  1.) if this is Netflix movie of the month (or even quarter?) it might mean we're witnessing the end of the platform
  2.) can't get over that they filmed it on 35mm. did someone on set really thought that this is art?
  3.) gal gadot innocent. joking. gal gadot fully responsible.

  5.) first rule of genre club: never hire a director who has 0 experience in action flix if you're doing an action prestige project for a big streaming platform
