the funniest subplot of this movie is how troy is sooooo jealous that ryan and gabriella are hanging out. troy, my dude. my man.. this is such a non-issue. have you seen his patterned hats? his jazz squares? his twinkish mannerisms? if you had actually been a team player and gone to the staff baseball game, you would’ve seen him and chad perform I Don’t Dance, a song very clearly about grappling and experimenting with sexuality (read the lyrics! study up! they literally switch clothes at the end of the song!).
the moral here is that if troy had just had decent gaydar a lot of trouble could’ve been avoided. hone your skills, y’all
can someone make sure wes anderson is still breathing after the color scheme in this movie
this movie is like, a shockingly-few short changes away from either being Dirty Dancing or a musical about class/race privilege and solidarity. amazing what a slight TV movie budget increase can do, even when it’s all going to proper dance rehearsals and Lucas Grabeel’s hat budget
