Melissa Joan Hart kidnaps Mario Lopez at a diner and forces him to pretend to be her boyfriend during Christmas with her wacky family. Of course they eventually fall in love, it is a Christmas movie afterall. Better than your average holiday romp, a Christmas classic.

This is a nightmare...it's horrible. It's an excruciating tale of kidnapping and Stockholm syndrome hidden under the umbrella of a romantic holiday comedy. The joy, to the extent that there is any, is that some of the film is humorously bad.

P.S. As a thought experiment I was trying to figure out how good this could be if it had the exact same script but everything else (actors, director, score, etc.) was top notch... how good could it be.... what is possible with a ridiculous script like this? Like what if this starred Aubrey Plaza and Chris Pine and was directed by David Fincher with score by the Manchester Orchestra... I don't know sometimes the mind imagines things.

The Shark Tale of Christmas romcoms. Everything about this movie is beyond dumb and super wrong in so many levels, but in a weird way, I had a ton of fun watching it.
This is the film equivalent of a Taco Bell Cheesy Gordita Crunch. It's all kinds of gross and definitely terrible for you, but every once in awhile, you've just got to indulge.
