You know that fun, quirky little movie you made with all your friends during quarantine? Keep it to yourself.
Violently unfunny. An 80 minute movie that felt like three hours of watching an improv troupe bomb. An unbearable woman and her inner child/younger self (yes this is literal) walk around Silver Lake on the last day before an asteroid obliterates the planet having excruciating, kooky and socially distanced interactions with the director and star's much more talented friends who had nothing to do, both in terms of not working during COVID but more so regarding the non existent script which clearly just leaned on them "doing their thing." Every single scene hits the most sweaty, grasping, mediocre version of the…
SUNDANCE 2021: film #12
“the only assignment is death!”
this is like... not good. i needed something to watch while i ate the food i had delivered (it was chick fil a :/) and it was perfect for that but not actually a good movie otherwise. it operates more like a social experiment thinly disguised as a movie, a bunch of weird comedy bits drenched in some casual existential dread but that’s definitely the point so it’s chill. WOW it’s gonna be weird to go back and watch all these covid movies in like a decade LMAO. also a quick ranking of my favorite cameos: 3. dennis from sunny 2. charlie and the waitress from sunny and 1. olivia fucking wilde baby. ok i’m done now
What would you say to your younger self? What would you do if today was your last day on earth? A quirky, lighthearted and endearing ride from start to finish, How It Ends asks these two questions through Liza, a young woman accompanied by her younger self, as earth prepares for a deadly asteroid strike. Together, they venture through sunlit Californian streets, meeting old friends, making new friends, and expressing suppressed feelings.
Right from the sunny opening shots paired with an upbeat soundtrack, How It Ends makes one thing evidently clear: This isn’t a film to be dissected or to be analyzed, this is a film to make you laugh, and to make you smile, in short—a film to simply enjoy. There’s no…
Some dude texted me a dick pic in the middle of me watching this which really fit the mood of the movie anyway Sundance #8
okay first of all…why did everyone hate this 😭 it was hilarious to me but maybe it’s my humor or something. Idk. I loved this whole movie for some odd reason. I like the idea of doing all the things you wanted to do before the world ends. The cameos were usually hilarious and I definitely laughed out loud a few times. It’s She Dies Tomorrow for optimists maybe. I’ve always wanted to do one of those. Anyways, I think it was a good movie. good for me
glenn howerton spending his last day on earth stalking women and stealing a car is so very dennis reynolds of him

**Liza gets an invite to a party on the eve of the end of the world. Her "younger self" tags along for the ride. After a carjacking, getting to the party becomes a journey.**
I can't believe I'm giving a movie with Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton one star. This is so upsetting.

Sundance Movie #5
Quick Review
On the last day on Earth, one woman goes on a journey through LA to make it to her last party before the world ends, running into an eclectic cast of characters along the way.
This is not just a movie, as it is also a celebrity-filled series of SNL skits (just kidding). In all seriousness, there is a ridiculous amount of “famous comedian” cameos in this film. A few of them are genuinely hilarious, while others fall completely flat. The offsetting tones are both charming and quirky, but terrifying at the same time. Our characters essentially walk through LA to encounter multiple individuals who are preparing for the…
“I am lactose tolerant and fucking Timmy?”
Look, I think the film is just fine but having started watching It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia two weeks ago and still and always loving absolutely anything Big Mouth-adjacent, there’s certainly sporadic fun to be had
oh i absolutely adored this!!! blew my expectations away. on top of being a charming and genuinely funny apocalyptic comedy, there's a lot of depth and emotion here that hit me very hard. it completely captures that pandemic dread and self isolation we've all been living through and turns it into something beautiful. it's about learning to love yourself. and, after months of spending time with myself and learning to trick my brain into hating itself, i really needed this. i laughed, i cried, i screamed every time a cast member of it's always sunny made a surprise appearance on my screen. just lovely!
anyone wanna double feature this and melancholia (2011) with me i think it would be fun
