Umberto Lenzi next to last film. An Amazon set treasure hunt tale with things blowing up very unexcitingly and lines like "do you dance the lambada?". Very much a relic of the dying days of Italian film industry. The action couldn't be poorer, the energy lower, the leading actor is a bore, and the movie goes from one nonsensical situation to the next with little control. I did laugh a lot when I found out the main villain was played by veteran Brazilian actor Cecil Thiré.
They don't make movies like these anymore. This is an Italian production shot in Brazil. Director Umberto Lenzi returns to the jungle, but this time without cannibals.
Hunt for the Golden Scorpion is a cheap action movie with a simple story shot in Manaus in the Amazon. Some dialogues are funny and the action scenes are the kind you find in Roger Corman's or Andy Sidaris's movies.

This is a bittersweet review as my journey with Lenzi has come to an end. I can say that this has been an extremely enjoyable one and it won't be my last time visiting with him. On to the movie at hand. Pretty basic 90s DTV type action movie. Not the worst but far from great. Until we meet again Umberto. Ciao!
All a bit unexciting really.
Also not that I'm particularly bothered but this Golden Scorpion that is so amazing that women will undress for it right? Well no women undress for anything in this movie so that's a complete lie. Also not many entire armies.
What I'm saying is that maybe the description lies.
Also as a Scotsman, this bad guys accent was...let's just say fucking dreadful.
