Perfect Care, Tudo pelo vosso bem
ladies, is it girlboss to trap the elderly in facilities and profit from selling their assets?
Now there’s another rich white blonde gay female supervillain apart from Ellen.
“Do you think Marla Grayson had girl power?”
“Yes, of course.”
”Do you think she effectively utilized girl power by taking advantage of and stealing from the elderly?”
alluringly vile. reminds me so much of bad education in all the best and most interesting ways
It feels as though it desperately wants to be a dig at capitalism and how it infuriates those nearer the bottom into manipulating legalities for personal gain, but if that is the attempt it is outrageously misguided; yet without a single character to root for that is the only thing I can imagine it is trying to do (also, the ending pretty blatantly establishes this as its goal). Pike's character, regardless of how well she plays it, is so immensely unlikeable as she takes advantage of the helpless elderly that no matter what her background she is irredeemable. And while this is clearly the point - evil wins in a system that is blind to its own shortcomings - it…
rosamund pike’s opening line: look at you. sitting there.
me, who’s sitting there: holy shit how did she know
rosamund pike with her sassy little bob always makes for some excellent girlboss fiction 😎💅
it was just missing something for me. don’t get me wrong, it’s slick and devilishly fun, but it felt like rosamund’s character had little substance beyond being ruthless. like with gone girl, i was really rooting for amy because nick’s a dick but with this... idk i really wanted mrs peterson to get out of the care home lol.
maybe this is evidence that “she did that!” energy can’t carry a film alone, as much as i hate to say it.
on the other hand, my mum was having a blast
What a performance from Rosamund Pike, she’s a god damn force to be reckon with.
I don't know if marla's character background or the ending part but definitely something didn't work quite right
So I guess defrauding the elderly is just a chill thing to do now?
Two things I gotta mention though. First off the amount of times that someone almost dies in this movie makes it feel like two 9 year old boys playing superheroes and saying "You died" "Nuh uh" "Yeah you did" "No I didn't".
Then the fact that this is labeled an LGBTQ comedy on Netflix makes me wildly uncomfortable. First off the LGBTQ characters in this movie were down right horrible people, and the movie wasn't even remotely funny at any point whatsoever.
Seems like the general consensus of this film is people either say it kicks ass or licks ass. This movie definitely licks ass.
Ugly movie in all ways. Seems in most ways to admire the despicable scammers.
A contemplation on the morality of every character involved in this sorted tale of decent and greed; I Care A Lot is a maddening work of purely thrilling twists and turns. Begging the viewer to question who to root for in an inevitable game of bad vs badder.
Startling, revolting, riveting and disgustingly entertaining. You will find that this film is rightfully the number one movie in the country for a many good reason. Not without a few faults. This is one to watch.
