A Modern Family, 아이디얼 홈
this was basically a gay lifetime movie but its quite wholesome sometimes and paul rudd plays a gay dad with anxiety and emotional baggage so WHEW academy award incoming!
i hope the film industry knows im expecting at LEAST one uplifting gay cowboy movie every decade. every generation gets a gay cowboy movie
i'm giving this 5 stars in spirit because there's a montage of paul rudd and steve coogan being sappy and in love while a fucking sufjan stevens song plays in the background
A lot can happen in 10 years. That’s how long it’s been since writer-director Andrew Fleming first hatched the concept for “Ideal Home,” the idea coming to him when he was on the set of his arid Sundance hit, “Hamlet 2.” The world has come pretty damn far since then, if not quite far enough.
Back in 2008, a casually disposable comedy about the virtues of queer parenthood might have seemed progressive, even if it starred two straight actors and made their characters into human cartoons whose sexuality is used as the punchline of almost every joke. In 2018, that same comedy feels like a time capsule that someone forgot to bury — you can still get a laugh or…
paul rudd playing a gay dad and having a beard really saved post pride month wow this was the cutest shit ive ever seen it owned my heart 💓💓💓💓💓!!!!!!
gay dads paul rudd and steve coogan dance to sufjan stevens so i'm rating this 5 stars in spirit
a film that sheds light on same-sex parenting and has paul rudd as a bearded gay dad? the gays are winning once again
still isn't great but I just wanna say Paul Rudd's performance and the way his character was written keeps me coming back. Rudd plays a gay man with anxiety and emotional imbalances so honestly and with so much heart, it makes me feel seen! so yeah this is a guilty pleasure of mine, though I wish the film ended differently.
imagine the surprise on my face when I found out steve coogan is only 3 and a half years older than paul rudd and not 20
Ever wanted to see Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan as a gay couple?
Never thought of it? Me too.
At an hour and a half the film is a breeze to watch with solid preformances and amusing moments but not without some tonal struggles.
⭐⭐⭐ For Coorudd of course
there’s something about this movie that just pulls you in and keeps you with it the entire time
paul rudd is still sexy with that haircut and long ass beard lmao
the other guy’s performance... was not good though lmao
it’s pretty good overall and kind of funny... i enjoy the fact that my husband was laughing and watching with a smile on his face more than anything
it’s a good movie
You'll know exactly where this is ending up almost straight off, but more than entertaining throughout - excellent chemistry between the leads and Rudd looks great with a big beard.
Coogan slipping into gay Partridge from time to time was worth the price of admission.
Between this and Our Idiot Brother, I'm beginning to thing Steve Coogan is contractually obligated to play a cheater in all of his films with Paul Rudd.
