Adequacy is relative. Vitalik the main character of the movie seems to be pretty normal. With a respectable office job, a comfy little dwelling and a personal couch doctor, Vitalik looks as adequate as a human can possibly be. Wait till he drinks and drives himself into depression, and after that falls in love with an under-age girl living next door. Who's adequate now?

    Для самой главной российской мылодрамы десятилетки (по мнению некоторых) очень слабо. Сценарий написан дурно, диалоги блещут остротами из пабликов во Вконтакте, фильм в целом устарел лет на 10. Возможно на момент выхода он и был революционным, но сейчас это просто неплохое кино на вечерок, не более того. Зато по нему отчетливо видно насколько сильно сканула вперед драматургия в отечественном кинопроизводстве.

    Впервые посмотрел. И явно поздно, так как сейчас это меркнет в том числе и на фоне последующих фильмов Каримова. Финал и вовсе как-то "эээ".

    Sarcastic humor and witty dialogs still work perfectly.

    But on a more personal note, sometimes things we love hurt like hell.
    Regardless of how much I love it, I haven't rewatched this one for almost 8 years, because of how sad it makes me feel.
    It's not like much has changed, although this time for rather different reasons.
    In a way, Inadequate People reminds me of Chungking Express - only less poetic and far more grounded. Characters are as deep into their illusions, it's only that in this story they are actually aware of the impossibility of these illusions.

    P.S. The second part comes out this year, which makes me both excited and scared - it might become a sort of Russian version of Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight, but it can just as well turn out to be the disappointment of the century. And I'm not sure I can take any more sadness from this story.

    Мне многие советовали смотреть этот фильм но я всё тянула. Посмотрев сейчас понимаю что зря. Шикарная фильм после него прям легче становится.

    Как комедия с бесперебойными остротами и неловкими шутками - отлично. Как такой себе мамблкор с нелепым главным героем и фри-флоу сюжетом - отлично. Как драма, подбрасывающая флэшбэки, пытающаяся показать не картонных персонажей и генерирующая стандартноватые пролетающие мимо ушей фразы про любовь, счастье и самоидентификацию - оочень сыро.

    Эммм, ну это сильно перехвалено. Единственная нормальная часть диалога была на 73ей минуте. Остальное плохо снято, плохо сыграно, и конечно плохо написано.

    Nupat noskatījos otro reizi un atradu vecā blogā ko rakstīju pirms 4iem gadiem. Nekas nav mainījies. Filma ir super. Ingrīda arī :D
    Tātad:
    Principā jau viss ir ļoti adekvāti, kāds džekiņš pēc psihiatra ietekuma nomaina savu dzīvi par 180 grādiem. Jauna dzīves vieta jaunā pilsētā, jauns darbs, jauna priekšniecība, jauna kaimiņiene. Vot te ziepes sākās, jo jaunā kaimiņiene ir jauniete ar savdabīgu pasaules redzējumu, nē ne jau nenormāla vai kā tāda, vienkārši tāda nihilistiski noskaņota pret apkārtējo pasauli. Visa filmas sāls ir dialogos un tie ir super.     8th movie for 30 countries 2015

    Inadequate People is writer-director Roman Karimov's feature debut, and as such there's something to be said for very competent handling of most sides of this movie. It's low budget film-making, and I feel they got pretty good return on their money.

    The main problem of this movie is that it falls between two chairs. For one, it has too much baggage to be a typical rom-com. On the second hand, it never tries to be more than it is, and as such it's not really deep or challenging enough to really hit it home. There's nothing wrong with making movies that fall between the more typical genres and sub-genres. I for one can enjoy…
