Based on a true story... two friends (Dallas Roberts and Jeremy Renner), who have been struggling to find something to successfully sell eventually come up with a gizmo that becomes a worldwide phenomenon. Roberts and Renner make a good team in this one. Renner plays the friend that always seems to take Roberts down the wrong road. The performance that stood out to me was Ayelet Zurer, who plays Robert's wife. The movie has many good performances ....but the story is somewhat slow...and nothing really surprising happens in the movie. Which puts this one in the average category in my warped rating system.
Two dreamers, played by Dallas Roberts and Jeremy Renner, look to strike it rich with one of the many gadgets they’ve invented but always seem to come up short. This movie was based on true events and is pretty enjoyable. The leads are very good and the story is fascinating. Good watch.
Pretty good unknown film, that was interesting, had good chemistry between all the main characters. Yeah, a very good film that is not known by many but the many who like it, end up loving it :)

I had one of those Homer Simpson bottle openers...but I'm not sure I really needed to know where it came from. Ingenious is a fairly middle of the road "true life" story of two down-on-their-luck entrepreneurs looking for that killer product to make them rich, not really digging into the characters enough or offering up much in the way of drama. The very definition of forgettable.
Dallas Roberts and Jeremy Renner star as best friends who are constantly trying to invent something that will make them rich and successful. Failure after failure begins to affect their lives and relationships until they finally hit on something potentially big. Interesting story with a really well performing cast. I went in to this knowing nothing about it and was quite pleased.
Before inventing the fourth biggest-selling novelty product of all time, two small time salesmen who've gambled everything away find themselves up against the odds and unable to catch a break. Being swindled and swindling themselves.
A little charm (and a good script) goes a long way. This film has neither - strange considering the 'guys you'd like to have a beer with' quality of the two leads. It will make you want to have a beer though.
