joy ride, no hard feelings, and bottoms are going to be the summer raunchy comedy trifecta of 2023.
Joy Ride opens with a white boy taunting two Asian girls on a playground by saying “No ching chongs allowed!” right before he is immediately punched the fuck out.
The movie had me from that point forward.
JOY RIDE is one of the funniest films I’ve seen in years. So many outrageous laugh out loud moments I lost count. Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu & Sabrina Wu’s chemistry & comedic timing are flawless. Comparisons to other raunchy ensemble comedies are inevitable, but this very much has its own identity & should be celebrated as such.
Seth Rogen must have went to China to make an R-Rated Asian comedy.
Thank god there’s no Awkwafina.
