Love it when Foxx and B. Jordan were together on-screen, it's as if they're one-upping each other's performance.
Rob Morgan kills me, his performance was very good. Whether it's the conversations with B. Jordan, the white-walled jail scenes (shows their brotherhood), and the preparation for the electric chair.
The actor that played Ralph was also memorable.
It is very easy to say a movie is mediocre because what's coming is expected. I guess my experience with Just Mercy was an anomaly, as the great performances lifted the overall experience.
I'm actually curious what Daniel Destin Cretton had to prepare in order to direct this, since it is not his story -- in the TIFF Premiere Q&A, he did the movie after he stumbled upon Bryan Stevenson's book and loving it -- yet, he still did the story justice without overdoing it.
