Although this doesn’t move far from the typical cliches of a boxing film it does inject a lot of heartfelt and genuine moments into its narrative to keep the pace flowing. Felt like this was very inspired by British social realism cinema, particularly short film ‘Wasp’ as it had a lot of similarities.
Enjoyed how this was focused around a male lead as often single parent fathers are often overlooked in these kind of genres. Although flawed, you can see how much he genuinely cares for his 3 children and how the threat of one of them being taken away from him makes him go to extreme lengths to prevent it.
