Well-acted but at the same time a bit stiff, that's got more to do with the script though it's clear that they didn't want to stray away too far into making a too Hollywoodized film and instead be very factual.
But it's still decent, just not superexciting.
AMERICAN MADE (2017) with Tom Cruise also told the same story regarding CIA and their involvement in drug-smuggling, and that was a bit more entertaining (seen from a drug-smugglers point of view instead of here a journalist's).
But yeah they definitly make good for a double-feature together.
If you want even more on the subject there's also the tv-series SNOWFALL which takes the story from the point of view of the drugdealers on the streets as well as the smugglers.
