This movie is Jeremy Renner's passion project, and it definitely shows. You can tell by his performance that he put in everything he had into the role. It is by far the best aspect of the film. He really brings his character to life. (Raises it by a whole star even.) As for the plot, it's pretty entertaining considering the actual content. "Based on a true story." "Government and cocaine." "Sadly not Whiplash cause it's too limited." (It was seen after the masterpiece Gone Girl, so it was a tough act to follow.) I'm not quite sure how true to the story the film is, but for what it was, I was thoroughly enjoying it. It has its ups and downs, but it works well and flows nicely. Overall, a Jeremy Renner fueled historical drama, that showcases the dark secrets that the government keeps, in a glorious fashion.
