A movie within a movie, created to spoof the martial arts genre. Writer/director Steve Oedekerk uses contemporary characters and splices them into a 1970s kung-fu film, weaving the new and old together. As the main character, The Chosen One, Oedekerk sets off to avenge the deaths of his parents at the hands of kung-fu legend Master Pain. Along the way he encounters some strange characters.

What a fucking disgrace. Steve Oedekerk writes, stars and directs in a re-dubbed and edited 1970's martial arts film in which he fights a cow. What awards did he get? None.
The film industry is a mess.

Kung Pow: Enter The Fist is one of the stupidest comedies the world has ever seen, something I can't possibly stress enough. It appears to have been made by a single individual on a $6 budget, stringing together old Kung Fu movies and dubbing them over with ridiculous voices, saying non-sensical things. Half of the humor stems from a 4th grade appropriate "look how stupid we're being!" mindset and the other half is born from pure, insane randomness. It has a 5.9/10 on IMDb, which is probably richly deserved.
And it is awesome.

I subscribe heavily to the philosophy that a joke becomes unfunny when it overstays its welcome, except when it overstays it so long that it becomes funny again.
That is Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, a piece of art that's a joke first and film second, a parody on the martial arts genre that's so utterly stupid it's incredibly smart, a series of sketch-humor moments elevated by inventive editing and deliberate timing, the most archetypal spoof you'll ever see yet also perhaps the most tasteful one as well.
There is no reason why any of this is funny, and on paper the jokes feel juvenile at best and boring at worst. That is because execution is everything and Steve Oedekerk…

I can't do this film justice. Easily one of the most entertaining films I've ever seen. I don't know if it's really shitty or really amazing( or both). Just get a couple of friends and watch it, you won't regret it.
Lord I smoked a lot of pot in High school. Memory sure did have me remembering this as a 5/5 masterpiece.

Another one of those films that the 10-year-old me would have LOVED.
Steve Oedekerk’s Kung-Fu parody is like a interactive and highly immature version of Mystery Science Theater 3000. It’s a one joke premise that continuously pummels you every idiotic idea it can think of.
However, despite the silliness, you have to respect how much care and effort went into the editing and compositing.
