Everybody is supposed to love Tsing Yi, or "Green Shirt" as he calls himself, but dude is just interested in getting drunk and fighting. The true star of this movie is adeptly played by Damien Lau, even if I sort of hate the "bad guy with a heart of gold" trope his character embodies.
I feel like saying that's not how "good guying" is supposed to be.
Fung Hak On is an excellent action director and his fights are fun and impressive.
Wei Pai is just...missing something...but I can't say what it is that keeps him from really being the star that it feels like he's supposed to be. He checks all the boxes, but doesn't quite hit the mark.
I may just have been in the wrong mood for this, but I, for one, am not sorry to see chivalry go.
