EVERYONE GO WATCH THIS ASAP!
I can't believe this is a Disney + short... it feels like a lost Italian short film part of the Janus/ Criterion catalogue.
BEAUTIFUL. MAGICAL. FUNNY. ADORABLE. SINCERE.
Love the score...
A film about the spirit of children and about how we deal with the pressures of conformity and authority.
I'm going to watch all of Alice Rohrwacher's work now.
I could have done a feature with these vibes, but I also could have done with a tighter runtime.
Still loved it

Io sono cattiva, me lo avete detto voi.
That one scene where the girls are listening to war propaganda but then, left unsupervised, the radio suddenly changes and Ba-ba-baciami piccina starts playing and they sing and dance along.
When you’re a little girl everything is a terrible, terrible, joy.
One of the most stunningly shot nominees on the Oscar this year, period. The colors, the composition, the lighting – everything is simply just eye-popping. The short plays very much like a Wes Anderson movie, with lots of the quirks. However, there’s also this great and palpable tension and restraint brought by the events surrounding the film and the nonsense rules and actions from the nuns. The performances by everyone is ohh so great, from the little girls to the adults. This is more than likely winning the trophy.
