Seriously, who knew that the 8th movie in the series would end up being the best?! Has that ever happened before? This was s/h/o/c/k/i/n/g/l/y good! I love that it picks up right after the first one, but plays out like a regular sequel instead of trying to be a “reimagining”. It’s confident just being a slasher sequel and listen Hollywood that is how you do it. This is the way a new Friday or Nightmare sequel should be: just stick to what works. Hello? Look at Halloween ‘18.
Plenty of gore, some great kills, and hysterical lines thrown in here and there are what make this a real winner. I also love how it makes fun of some genre tropes. When she was like “we have to do something!” then walks off boldly before turning around and saying “ok actually we should make a solid plan”, I was hollerin’.

This has some really fun kills. The solar panels alone generate enough renewable energy to sustain the films runtime. I loved the ridiculous moment when they revisited that carnage. There are definitely some other fun kills in the final act, including some of the times it seems the Leprechaun has been killed.
Great pick, M@. Another surprisingly good legacy sequel.
Degrees of Kevin Bacon: 2

2. Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kevin Bacon in In The Cut
Super enjoyable, lean/mean, and filled with some dope effects, Leprechaun Returns forgoes the many sequels and pulls a Halloween 2018—a trend I kinda? I’m down for different timelines, plus there’s some gnarly kills, one liners galore, Lep looks great (even though I miss Warwick Davis, this guy is pretty sweet) and the overall vibe of this thing just worked for me. I like most of the Lep movies, so I went in not knowing what to expect here and I was pleasantly surprised... this one is a solid addition if you ask me.
It’s pretty neat to see an Astron-6 (Fathers Day, Manborg, The Void) member bring all those effects n make-up from movies I really don’t like and finally make a movie I kinda loved.
"Werner Hertzcock would be proud!" - Indeed he would.
Lila Jenkins, daughter of Tory Jenkins (Jennifer Aniston) from the original film has transferred to a new university. A university that happens to have bought the house owned by her mother and grandfather twenty five years ago. The same house in which they trapped the Leprechaun down the well in the front yard. No internet, no power, and no cell service. When an old face with a gold shilling in his gut shows up near the well the Leprechaun rises once again to continue his quest to reclaim ALL of his gold, and this time he is more sadistic than he has ever been before.
Fuck, was I shocked when I…

I love the Leprechaun franchise and I'm totally happy with this reboot.
In Leprechaun Returns, a group of sorority sisters awaken the Leprechaun. The sorority sister angle is not played as exploitation, more like a Black Christmas vibe (attempt) with a real diversity of characters and types that each have some sort of arc in the film.
Give this movie at least 16 minutes and 20 seconds before you decide you're bored. In fact, this movie gets more and more and more bizarre and wonderful with each few minutes passing, which culminates in an awesome third act.

This is a direct sequel to the original. I was hoping that Jennifer Aniston would remember her humble beginnings and spot us a wee cameo, but no such lucky charms.
For those of us growing up with last decade's plumbing technology, the fear of the flushing toilet and getting scalded is all too real... We all knew that horror growing up.
I found this little green turd annoying as hell... His laugh, his voice, even if at some point he was on fire with those puns... I am sure @NotAnnaFaris appreciated that rapid…

A perfect St Paddies weekend slash!
I’ve seen the first 4 Leprechaun movies(3 I have the most fun with). One being the classic ofc and this basically requels it. Sucks they couldn’t bring back an A-lister like Jennifer Aniston, but even more so for, Warwick Davis. From what I remember, he was the best part of this franchise and they atleast keep the Leprechaun side pretty strong here. From the all the stupid silly shit he says, to the bloodlust he goes on for his pot of gold, makes up for the recast. The actual design is nasty lookin as well. This also just proves with creative kills and fun carnage, it can overshadow a weaker/more basic story. Some of these…
Well, this had a rocky and cliche start. The predictable final girl, dumb teenagers, isolated setting, boring characterization and every weak aspect a legacy sequel shouldn’t have but right after the 40 minute mark, when the humor started slowly kicking in, the parody took it’s tiny steps and a solar panel dropped, the movie took a neat shift. It became hilarious, gory, clever and explosive.
I missed Warwick Davis as the Leprechaun ☘️ here but the creature design was great and the dialogues were a riot, so it was enjoyable. The climax was a bit weak but they almost did it. The practical effects were phenomenal and boy the kills were gnarly. Glad they bought my favorite character Ozzie…
A sequel that finally knows how to balance the horror and absurdity of a Leprechaun running wild looking for his gold and killing everyone in his path. For the first time we get to see what a serious take on this concept might look like and it mostly delivers with hands down the best kills of the entire series. It’s sad to not see Warwick Davis in this “legacy” sequel but the Leprechaun still quips and rhymes his way from scene to scene accompanied by some ghastly special effects.
If your going to spend any amount of time with this strange franchise, check out this entry, Part 3, and the first journey to Da Hood.
Leprechaun movies are by default not good so a job well done by making a not good movie that never became a chore to watch
