The writers really thought that James Corden lobbing holy water condom balloons would be enough for the audience to get past the flagrant misogyny abound. And yet.

James Corden has now gained great popularity in the USA. I'm not quite sure why.
This film is billed as a 'horror comedy' but has very little of either. It is almost trying too hard. I get that it is trying to be a fun homage to the Hammer classics but really, they got by on more than 'shit', 'tits' and gunge.
The plot (such as it is) is that every woman in a particular village turns into a lesbian vampire on her 18th birthday.
You might enquire as to the political correctness of this, or the sheer exploitation of issues surrounding the forced lesbianism of a succession of pretty girls.

The obvious problem with casting James Corden as the lead in anything is that he's so incredibly unlikeable. It was intriguing to realise that this movie vehicle for him and Mathew Horne was released during the six weeks that their short-lived TV sketch show was airing, because between the two productions, any goodwill for the double-act they were pursuing off the back of the sitcom Gavin & Stacey was totally killed off. Yet it hasn't - somehow - prevented Corden from having a hugely successful and lucrative television career, much to the bewilderment of those of us who can't stand the creepy bastard.
And that's why it's taken me this long to get around to watching Lesbian Vampire Killers, even though,…
