I'm always interested in films that take a unconventional look at platonic relationships versus romantic relationships, and what separates one from the other, and this film scratched that itch in a way I rarely see. It offers a lot of the warm fuzziness and comfort that the structure of a rom com provides. But the end goal is the sturdy bond of friendship, and romance is a distraction on the way to that goal.
