  This isn't a documentary; it is a eulogy delivered by a ghost.

  It contains no new interviews because it is pieced together entirely from self hypnosis tapes that Brando had been making for decades.

  This movie is truly one of a kind and feels more like a Terrence Malick film than a celebrity biopic.

  And to make the whole affair even more surreal, it is presided over and narrated by his disembodied CGI head.

  To me, and I can imagine for a lot of people, this man was and still is the best to ever do it. I’m not sure if we will ever see someone else like him. He was one of the very first to change the game. He had such an interesting yet troublesome life. 

  The only other person that comes some what close to him is Daniel Day-Lewis but even then, Marlon Brando will forever be, the greatest.

  the Brando-face-map is one of the most haunting and memorable film techniques I've seen in recent cinema, owing largely to the personality expressed in those audio recordings.

  The life of Marlon Brando is told in his own words through private audio tapes and interviews in this documentary that really shed light on his inner thoughts and conflicts. It was made with the full cooperation of the Brando estate, and manages to piece together the iconic actor’s turbulent life story in a way that feels raw and honest. The only problem with these sorts of documentaries is that by only showing the subject’s perspective the focus is quite narrow, and it is really more of a character study than a straightforward life story, but manages to be very watchable and engaging.

  In jungen Jahren, ähnlich wie James Dean, galt Marlon Brando als Rebell und kaum eine Frau konnte seinem Charme nicht erliegen. Der sah aber auch verdammt gut aus.

  Und spätestens mit Der Pate als er den Mafiaboss Don Vito Corleone verkörperte, wurde er unsterblich.

  Die Doku zeigt uns einen Überblick über seine lange und erfolgreiche Karriere - unterlegt mit zahlreichen Originalaussagen von Brando.

  Wird eigentlich höchste Zeit, dass ich wieder mal einen Film von ihm mir anschaue 🤔 - Meuterei auf der Bounty vielleicht, auch so ein Klassiker.

  A ghost delivering his own eulogy in the form of a Terrence Malick-esque stream of consciousness is the best way I can describe Listen to Me Marlon, Stevan Riley's extraordinary, metaphysical documentary about the celebrated actor Marlon Brando. The film features no talking heads at all, the only voice we hear is Brando's himself, taken from a newly unearthed archive of audio recordings that range from semi-coherent meditation sessions to lucid biographical insights about his earlier life, but what gives the film an even eerier dimension is that Brando had his face digitised shortly before his death and that computer model is brought…

  Oh, what a beautiful portrait of one (or The One) hell of an actor!
  I didn't know much about his personal life so this was super interesting and very well made.
  What a sad story, what a wild, great man.
  I always loved him for his acting but now i "see" the man.
  You have my heart now, mister Brando.
