Ah, Vampires. Blood-thirsty entities based on Hollywood and goth subculture, right? Not anymore! Enough of bad publicity and dead bodies. It's about time to boost a brand-new image by guerilla-marketing. And so a human documentary crew gets exclusive access to a typical next-door Vampire household…
As you may have guessed — this is Found Footage by numbers. Nothing revolutionary, but entertaining. Like, really entertaining. Here's why.
1) Performance-wise, it strikes gold with its cast. All of the acting is astoundingly cool, satirical overacting included.
2) Humor: Loveable overtones somewhere between Fright Night and Addams Family, even though the overall feel is authentically FF-esque
3) Heart. The sincerity and passion of everyone involved shine through clearly.
As it stands, Living Among Us is a fun ride that proves that you don't need "originality" to create freshness. If you are comfortable with basic FF, give it a go and show your support.
