A noble enough attempt I guess to update the chalk and cheese Hollywood romcoms that once starred Hepburn and Tracy for the era of the second wave of feminism, that comes complete with an added desire for the UK film industry to make a road movie with allusions to Americana and the west evinced particularly in its score, but it doesn't full satisfy.
Adapted by Maggie Brooks from her own novel (which I suspect may have been better) and directed by Richard Eyre, Loose Connections stars Lesley Duncan as Sally, a dogmatic feminist who, with the aid of her two feminist sisters, has built her own jeep from scratch with a view of travelling to a women's convention in Munich.…
Shit, but in an endearing way, like fan fiction. The overacting, scriptwriting, and gay-baiting were the main issues.
