I really like Finn and the story slowly grew and the ending was sweet but I didn't feel any romantic vibes between them at all.
Pleasantly surprised, the acting is pretty good for a cheesy hallmark type movie. I’m a sucker for harlequin romance and this one translated well to the screen. The dialogue is a bit serious, but I liked all the characters and the relationships felt pretty realistic. If you’re expecting an amazing blockbuster, maybe pass, but if you’re in a hallmark movie binge, this will probably blow you away.
Unless you're the Hallmark channel, you shouldn't waste your time making movies like this!
A surprisingly sweet TV movie. She's a doctor, going home to Alaska to inherit a clinic during a live festival. He's a brooding hipster pilot with PTSD from his military days. They were childhood sweethearts. Can he learn to love again? This has gorgeous scenery and is well acted for a TV movie. It's predictable of course but enjoyable.
Love Alaska is based on the novel An Alaskan Christmas by Belle Calhoune. It's from the Love Inspired line of Harlequin books, so it's pretty much clean romance. Not sure this film is anywhere near faithful to the novel, I’m assuming there’s big changes because this is not a Christmas film. It reminds me more of a Valentine’s Day film even though it’s not. They have a big finding your love connection convention going on with hearts and balloon decorations all over the place. This movie is confused. Hold on I'm googling the book synopsis. I'm back, and holy smokes it's not remotely close except in character names and locations.

This one had some real promise but fell short.
Always love me a return to childhood home and reuniting with childhood sweetheart (or childhood best friend turned new sweetheart). And it was nice to get a character with actual problems that weren't just brushed away. The PTSD in this is a real problem, and shown as being quite horrible, which is a nice thing to see for once in a movie like this!
However, a light romantic movie suffers terribly when one of the romantic leads spends all of it pushing the other one away. He's grumpy and refuses love the entire time. And yes, I get it, he is a broken man. And I'm sure this has happened a…
Love Alaska- if only all TV movies were this ambitious. Most of the humor doesnt work but the core story of reunited childhood friends handling demons like PTSD really does work. It also felt like Alaska even though it probably wasnt. I've never seen this actress but she is great
