i got about 7 episodes into this show and i am uncomfortable! i'm just so uncomfortable that a panel of men just decided to create female characters just so they can have their tits out the whole time i'm SICK and i'm done with this show!!!!! literally it's not that hard to just. Not Objectify Women yet these men STILL think it's hard I DON'T GET IT

I’m reviewing this again because it represents the crux of my complaints with this animation series or whatever it is, and because LB deleted the listing for this as it’s own contained movie to be reviewed as a whole, rather than the individual shorts themselves. That being said, The Witness presents the problems with the entire show in a nutshell. It’s more objectifying of women at best and misogynist at worst. The writers of this anthology have a profound confluence between love and sex that shows how nobody making this cared to make any actual love stories, rendering sex as the defacto replacement for “love”, which reeks of shitty men writing their fetish fantasies into animated flesh puppets. So I just finished binge watching this whole show and I really dug it. The 4.5 rating is mainly just for this episode, The Witness, cause it was my personal favourite, but my ratings for every episode are listed below:

Die Augenzeugin
Abermals ohne einen Referenzwert, bleibt selbst mit dem Wissen der Prämisse für mich eine immer im Vordergrund stehende Inszenierung spielend in einem "Blade Runner" anmutendem Setting vermischt mit einer Lack und Leder-Fetischwelt die völlig Blank zieht die die „Die Augenzeugin“ – zu recht – schließlich auf den ersten Platz katapultiert.

Today: The WitnessHi everybody, break the vicious circle - this episode is the stylish variant of a punk neo noir short film, which is wonderfully bizarre and definitely knows how to convince with its optics. Definitely the episode with the most bare skin and the most explicit sex representation of the entire anthology series.
When we think about the word Cyberpunk, this is what we imagine. Skyhigh buildings that only give an idea where the sky used to be which is now nothing more than a distant symbol of freedom. You knew from the get go that this was made for gameboys jackin' off to anime characters. The objectification of women is disgustingly evident the whole of Love, Death and Robots, and this is the worst of them all.
Having said that, amazing visuals; probably the best so far. Every frame is mastefully done. The story is great too, with right of amounts of chaos, suspense and intrigue.
