Beautiful looking film with incredible costume and production design, fantastic locations and good performances.
I just didn't care all that much for the story. With that said, something like this really isn't my thing - I was mostly just trying it out for the hell of it and because it's runtime wasn't too intimidating. But I can imagine someone who likes Austen adaptations getting into this. But for me? Yeah, it was alright, I suppose.
I might be crazy but the editing and music felt quite Kubrickian at times. I can't work out if that is a good thing or bad thing - it sure was nice to look at but it just made me wish I was watching Barry Lyndon instead of this. At least that had a few wicked cool duel scenes, am I right?
It was nice seeing Kate Beckinsale again. It feels like forever since I last saw her in something new.
