"Life goes by fast enough as it is."
Yet I squander mine watching Mack & Rita 😬
I deserve better.
This cast deserves better.

”Oh well, la-de-da, la-de-da, la-la”
Diane Keaton at 30, playing an adorable Annie Hall and winning her first Oscar.

”It’s like I’m me, but I’m not me, I mean, I’m me way up here, but these things here... ”
Diane Keaton playing a 30-year-old trapped in Keaton’s body, nowhere near as adorable and potentially winning her first razzie.
”Sometimes I ask myself how I'd stand up under torture” - Annie Hall
my mom said re the one guy from schitts creek “i didn’t know he was a real actor i thought he was canadian”
I would have walked out of this if I didn't see it with my Wife and Mom.
Sometimes I truly do feel bad when I hate on a film or rate one so low. I know hundreds or possibly thousands of people worked on this movie. And it was clearly shot during COVID, which exacerbates the already countless problems associated with the film-making process. But I can't think of one redeeming quality or anything that I enjoyed about Mack and Rita. I unfortunately can't even say anything good about Diane Keaton. This is easily the worst performance from her I've ever seen.
I seriously considered putting this below The Bubble on my Ranked 2022 list as my least favorite film of the year: HERE
The plot of this film is literally just how much everyone loves Diane Keaton’s wardrobe, and honestly I respect that
Hysterically bad and cheesy but well-meaning and super dooper easy to watch. Diane Keaton playing Diane Keaton as usual, lots of energy from her in this though, a few good chuckles.
“Isn’t every Barnes and Noble an Eataly now?”
I was pretty disappointed. While everything along the way was very cheesy, at least the acting talent was pretty decent. Diane Keaton still is probably the greatest comedic talent alive.

My grandma wanted to see a movie and the only one she seemed interested in, was this. Shes been seeing the trailer on tv i guess and likes Diane Keaton, so it seemed like a sure bet for her. That said, she did have a good time and that’s all that really matters.
I kinda tuned out quite a bit tho. I had more fun watching my grandmas reaction and hearing her say “oh god!” every time something out of the norm happened(mostly her outfits lol). For me, this movie was just not funny at all, maybe because it didn’t appeal to me whatsoever, but the whole concept kinda gets swept under the rug and it’s mainly just an excuse to…

Mack and Rita is about a 30-year old (Elizabeth Lail) partying in Palm Springs until she magically turns into a 70-year old (Diane Keaton). Even though Hollywood does not need another one of these body swap movies, it still sounded like a cute enough idea if placed in the right hands. I enjoy 17 Again (although I know it’s a mess) and I know most people adore Freaky Friday (I haven’t seen it). The writing here though is forgettable with often tedious dialogue and a disappointingly poor performance from Keaton. I always felt like I was purely watching Keaton and not watching a 30 year old in her body. For a comedy, it failed to make me laugh more…
My theater is getting this instead of Bodies x3 and that just seems on course for the same theater that only kept NOPE for 2 weeks but refuses to let go of Where The Crawdads Sing.
I need to move.
